Tuki update!

I will add pictures tommorow! Tuki is Doing wonderful! We have had her for almost 3 months now and she is the light of my life! Sure she is loud at 5am even on the weekends because she doesnt understand we dont get up that early saturdays! lol but She is a sweetheart! She is almost 7 months old now and still handfeeding on 2 feedings a day. But she does eat some pellets now and some fresh foods so weaning isnt too far off now. She is 100% harness trained and has never even tried to chew on it. ...

My baby greys (TAGs) are now ready for their forever home. They have been fully weaned, have all their feathers and are sweet and ready to go. These are my Lyric's brothers/sisters. I did not personally hand feed them, but my good friend and stay at home mom did it for me. These babies are used to other birds, children and dogs. Please serious inquiries only. ok people i have wonderful news my quaker kiwi is now off quarantine im thinking of sunday putting him in the same room as my african grey to see how things go. i'm hopeing things go well im sure they will, they can hear each other right now and bailey my grey can hear what the other one does and tries to pick it up.... i will let everyone know how it goes sunday......

How often will my TOO molt?(not sure if its the same all breeds) And when should she start to molt? I think I read somewhere that males tend to molt more than females. I don't know- Thats why I'm turning to my handy dandy bible(The forum ) LOL!!

Hi everyone!! I heard a peep this morning from my grey's nestbox- Tarzan & Akasha have a new baby! 1 baby and 2 eggs so far. I'm so excited- this is Lyric's first baby brother/sister. He was the only chick in his clutch, the other 2 eggs laid with his didn't hatch. They had one more clutch of eggs that none hatched and now- success! I'm so excited- had to share with all of you.

Gotta a question guys.......

Baby has learned her cage so well that she has learned which doors open So therefore she has taken all screws out of the doors THAT OPEN. We have her food doors tied with nylon rope and her wet food dish wired( she has lost the screws), and the door that opens at the top of her cage thats kinda like a platform we had to super glue the screws in because she kept taking them out Ok my question is... she has broken one of her large wing feathers playing ...

i was sitting and talking with a friend of mine who is interested in getting a parrotlet and i told her i have a man and was interested in getting a female. i told her i would like to breed parrotlets due to alot of people sale them out here but it is hard to find ones that are hand tamed, so i was thinking of doing that, i had thought about african greys but im more interested in the parrotlets cause i know alot of people that want smaller birds...it will be awhile before i even doing it.... ...

ok this bird which i have had for about 5 years now is so neat, i didnt know what kind of bird this was until i looked him up. he came to me at work, i work for animal control and im at the shelter. the owner well moved and left him behide so i took him in. of course later the owner came back when he realised his bird didnt die.,... we ask him why he left the bird and he said it was only there for a few weeks he got a ticket and was told no more animals..... when i got the bird i had to take ...

I'm not sure, but my 2 cockatiels are definitely spending a LOT of time in the nesting box. There is always one or other or both of them in there. I tried to take a peek through the opening and they growled at me So I think I should leave them alone. I will know one way or the other in 3 weeks or so anyway won't I!

Oh wow! That is all I can say at this point! In the past 3 weeks I have now grown my rabbit farm from 1 to 22!

Hey everyone, I have two cockatiels that need good homes. They are both rescues so their exact ages are unknown , but i was told they are both under 5 yrs. They both came from sweet lil old ladies who just couldnt clean up and care for them any longer. They are both good talkers, and are semi tame. My daugher-God Love Her- brought me this baby Mourning Dove that she " Rescued" from a cat! Now I have this poor thing that I have no idea how to take care of , how to feed it or WHAT to feed it! There has been alot of questions on training you bird and what are signs of aggression to me in Pm's and on the I'm. So here are some of the signs to watch for.

1) Eye Pinning= there pupils are dilated to a fine point. (sign of being disturbed or threatened, and excitement)

2)Crouching low on the perch with wings open and tail feathers fanned open,and beak open.( The bird is very nervous and is ready to strike).

3)Wings raised and beak open=(bird is scared and ready to fly)

4)Swaying ...

Question on cage size

I took in a pair of macaws.

1 is a scarlet and the other is a military.They have been housed together for a long time.

But the cage they came in to me looks real small.

its an old breeder cage.

I need some advice. My ringneck Mischief is driving me to drink and ear muffs. Evry evening we go through this screaching effort fot about half an hour. It is usually after dinner s/he starts jumping around and screaching. The more I tell him/her no the worse it gets. I have been covering the cage to get Mischief settled and it gets quiet immediately. What is Mischief trying to say? It is winter here now is it maybe the cold that is getting to Mischief.
