Re: Breakthrough with Oisin
Well officially we have one each. Liath will be 2 in July and she is mine. And Oisin will be 1 in July and he is Don's. We have had him since last September. I didnt really try to bond with Oisin in the beginning because I didnt want to mess up his relationship with Don. But I am around much more than he is, so I do tend to take him out more. But he wouldnt have anything to do with me. I could touch him briefly. I could move him from place to place (usually). But never cuddle him.
The only big thing that changed is... we had him clipped ???

Holy crap Siobhan! How long have you had him? How old is he? That is just amazing! That is kind of what Molly did to all of us when we got SweetHeart. She just all of a sudden changed her ways. Did anything change in your house?
But regardless that's awesome! lol Soo happy for you!
BTW you said your husbands, do you both have a CAG? I know you have two of them, but is each one bonded to each of you independently? You'll have to let me know cause this is the next bird I'm getting lol.

Breakthrough with Oisin
My husbands grey has NEVER liked me. He will just about step up to get out of his cage because he knows otherwise he wont get out. But I usually cant get him back in. He bites everyone even my husband. He will let my husband cuddle him for a while but usually ends up biting him too. About a month ago I had him clipped for various reasons. The biting problem. Getting him back in his cage, and his love of landing on the other birds cages. There were some improvements in his manner, but I still couldnt pet him.
Until today! I took him out this evening as I usually do and put him on my knee. I gave him a toy he likes to play with and started watching tv. Out of curiousity I decided to try pet him again. And he let me... I scratched him, and rubbed him and stroked him for about 2 hours. And at bed time, he stepped up no problem and climbed back into his cage! WOW!
