Make your own Toys!!

I have found that baby toys make great toys for my cockatoo. Gotta love them yard sales!!!! Baby has ALL kinds of blocks, rattlers and puzzles in her cage. Her favorite ones are the different color pop beads. Then of course I made her some out of paper egg cartons and rawhide, wiffle balls and curling string, paper towel rolls and wood. She loves them! They don't cost me hardly anything. I think I live in the Dollar Store now...LOL!!!

Anyone know what type of PVC pipe is safe for bird!

i had bought some toys for my bird, but there was this one toy i wanted to get hime and it was made out of wood and leather it was a small swing that they hang from, well my boyfriend thought that paying 21.99 was unreal, so i looked aroung and they sold wood pieces for 4.00 in a bag, then my boyfriend had the leather and he bought some tie rope the same kind the place had, and he made the exact same one they had they and only cost him 7.00. so right there we saved money making our own. my bird loves it, of course now my sun conure wants one too. lol i am going to start making his toy to me it is better, i know alot of what i see i wont be able to make so those ones i will buy.

The shipping and boxing runs between 17 and 22.

Unfortunately it would cost more to ship it than the actual stand. I may just have to have a go at my husbands tools and see if I can make something! The joys of living on an island... everything costs double

The wood base is ambrosia Maple, the climbing area is make of imported brazle red oak.

Hey Joe why don't you sell what you guys make? Or do you, and I'm just not aware? lol What kind of hanging gyms do you make? Any pictures? As you all know I am getting a Cockatoo and need to get my but moving on making or buying some toys! We are possibly getting him in 3 weeks! If you have any pictures guys that would be awesome to give some of us an idea.

I make a lot of bird items by hand using very hard woods, so the little critters have a tougher chewing them up.

I like the hanging gyms I make for the birds to play on.

Just add a little more DIY Toys! I got this off another fourm hope know one's minds! Uh, I think it cost us somewhere from a$ 80 to $100.
