Ronda
A thread like this and the family thread sounds great. A nice way to get to know one another.

It would be nice to share with everybody. Besides there is nothing better than good friends, good food and a good bottle of wine. Laughing

Orla is 14! And the pressure of her exams are not helping! She has 12 written exams in different subjects in June, and the practicals start now. It is the second most important exam for a young person in ireland, and the first one that they do. So to them it is then END OF THE WORLD!!!!

But overall, she is a great kid!

Oh and Joe... she wants the cookbook!!! you have my email already. I will keep you guys posted on what else she cooks for us! Soon enough I will be able to retire from the hot stove altogether !!!

Another great idea Siobhan! A family thread!

What a lovely young woman you have there! She looks about the same age is my daughter. Jessica just turned 12, and boy oh boy do I know the temper, but honestly girl, they probably get it honestly from their mama's lol

Here is the up and coming female version of Gordon Ramsey! (with the temper to match!)

Of course she is looking over my shoulder and is shouting at me which just proves my point about the temper Smile

Well I am very proud of her. Recipe or not she has the timing down perfect, and her prep is really good. I tend to chop everything any which way and chuck it in, my idea being it all goes down the one way anyway! But Orla has every piece of onion exactly the same teeny size as the next one etc. She is doing good!

Not to mention the fact that her teacher got over the fact that she didnt follow the teachers recipe very quickly as soon as she tasted it Smile Mmmm I can smell the lovely garlic smell again, she is making it for us again today, for the last practice before Thursday. She wont have time on a school day.

I think the recipe idea is a great one Ronda!

Wait a minute. This is Siobhan daughters recipe. I just helped. She is doing a bang up job, and will move up the ranks of home cookers. Passion and love is the real winner here and shes got it.
I wish only the best for you sweetie. You have earned a lot of respect from a 40 yr chef. You are awesome!!!!!

Yes Joe, you have to share the family recipe lol. If you do I will share mine. Hey girls what do you think, we need a topic for our home meals to cook for us don't we? Something not just for our birds, something we can all try for our families. Like a recipe exchange! I know I get tired of the same things all the time. I'll start one!

But good luck to your daughter Siobhan! Hope she does good, by the way the dish looks, she'll do real good. And hard to go wrong with an Italian dish if you have a good recipe to begin with, and normally coming from a true Italian they are always good! Wink

Post by Siobhan Sat Apr 05, 2008 4:20 pm

A couple of months ago Joe gave my daughter a recipe for lasagne for her State exam in cooking. She does the exam on Thursday, but of course we have been making her practice a lot because it is absolutely delicious! Even Liath loves it... The evidence of how nice it is is the empty dish!

Thanks again Joe, she is doing you proud!
