Please also don't forget that birds can get sick from the bacteria in human's mouths. That is why vets do not recommend feeding your bird anything that has been in your mouth. When my birds and I share something I try to always make sure the bite I give to them wasn't by a bite I just took. Just something to keep in mind.

Can you make your pets sick?
Ok I just found out that I have strep throat. I was kind of loving on our new addition Casper and I have since stopped because of the fear I might make him sick. I of course let him out and talk to him, well try to talk lol. But can we transfer germs to our birds by being sick and handling them? I wash my hands all the time, and even though I brush my teeth a few times a day actually I know a germ is still a germ especially when you have strep throat. So can I make him sick? Thanks!
