Re: New aviary
Oh that's really cool! I'm so glad that Rosie is happy now and enjoying her new friend
Maybe soon you'll hear the pitter patter of babies in a nestbox. Before you know it you'll need a bigger aviary!

Re: New aviary
No, I am going to leave them outside. Where they are is very sheltered, and doesnt get frost. I have some perspex which I will attach to the outside for the winter. Budgies and cockatiels do quite well outdoors up to temperatures of -10 degrees celsius. I don't ever remember it being that cold here. I do plan on putting up little boxes, sort of like cupboards which they can go into if it gets really cold, I will insulate those too.
I wont be putting the parrots out though !
They really love it. Do you remember Rosie the cockatiel who had no personality... and just sat there all day.... she is a new bird completely! She has a pal now Jim, and she is flying and whistling and climbing around. I am so happy for her.

Re: New aviary
That is really great Siobhan! I wish I had the time/space/motivation/money to do something similar for my birds. Will you bring them inside during the wintertime or do you plan on heating the aviary?

New aviary
I had an unused fuel shed at the back of my garden right beside my patio which we put to good use. What do you think? I will be putting a corridor along the outside next weekend.
