Re: Thickbill parrots
Thanks, i just had to share those photos. It was sad to hear the history on the thickbill parrots and knowing there is not alot of them around in the wild or even in private aviaries, or homes.
So it was nice being able to share such a beautiful bird with everyone, when i had a chance.....donna

Thickbill parrots
I wanted to share with everyone a pair of birds that are actually native to the USA.
I had the a chance to be able to work with these birds and to share them with a second grade class before they went to there final new home..
These are a pair of Thickbill parrots, they are the size of a amazon, they were such a joy to meet.
they were hatched in 1989 from different parents, these were not wild caught.
they did not requirer a license to have them because of the parents......
They were from a mans private bird collection that has totally gotten out of birds.
I helped the old owner to place these birds in there new home and it was a private home.
just wanted to share with you.
I hope the photo turned out.Im not use to using the upload for photos....thanks donna
