Now they are starting to look like birds. How are you getting on with the feeding? How many feeds are they on now?

Re: Picture of Timnehs, 1 week old
Yeah, I think they all start off more or less the same, weird and alien looking!
They will look like Congos to you at first because the beak will turn black for a bit, then it gradually lightens up to the horn color as they get older, it is funny how that happens.
I will be feeding Kaytee Exact handfeeding formula because right now I feed the parents Kaytee Exact pellets and it is easy on them to make the transition.
I plan to switch all my birds eventually to TOPS, I think it looks like a great organic diet. I don't believe they offer a handfeeding formula though, so I'll probably just stick to the Kaytee for that.

Re: Picture of Timnehs, 1 week old
They could be any bird at all at that age couldnt they? They look so like my baby tiels its really strange! I cant wait to see as they get older and start to look more like a TAG!
What are you planning on feeding them? I fed my tiels on zupreem which was literally the only hand rearing formula I could find here.

Picture of Timnehs, 1 week old
Hi all- I have been blessed with 2 new African grey Timneh chicks from my pair, Osiris and Isis. I was able to snap a couple of pics yesterday. The oldest is 1 week and 1 day old the youngest is 6 days old. I know, they look weird at this stage of their lives. Their eyes aren't open yet and you can only see the head of the oldest one in this pic.

That's the little ones wing draped over the egg next to him. Two weeks to go and I'll be a busy momma bird! I'm getting excited.
