Re: Donna's Flock/friends
Thank mario, I just feel im not going to be around forever and we need the younger generation to continue our work with birds.
As I have found out, that people really dont know much about birds and we all need to change this...
Offer as much as we can to educate!
Thanks donna

That is cool Donna! I was going to ask you if others could hold your birds when you were out at a function like that, but you answered it lol. That is really neet though! Good for you to get out there and show people and educate them!

Re: Donna's Flock/friends
During the spring we are usually invited to bring our birds into different schools, or like girl scout troops that are earning there feathered badge or home schools, We have even taken the birds to a senior disable group.
My goal is to help educate people on birds and what better way is to reach out to the young, and believe it or not how many elderly have even seen a big bird up close.
The children and others are not allowed to touch the birds but they get to be real close to them.
Its amazing the questions 2nd grade kids have for us..
Once we get pass (how much does that bird cost! )
We have alot of fun, and this also helps our birds stay social..
We have some major hams for birds..
they love the attention........thanks donna

Wow you have beautiful birds... And so well behaved. I wouldn't be brave enough to bring my birds to school in case a kid lost a finger!

Donna's Flock/friends
Here are chewy our greenwing, Casper our blue and gold, all of them were visiting a school we went to last year...
here is Tookie our Tucuman Amazon, he is rare and now very social, He's about 20 years old, I have been searching high and low for another Tucuman so he would have a friend, I had a couple chances but they fell through, so Tookie is still searching for a friend....
here is meeka our Blue Front Amazon, she is my best friend,
You know they say african greys are the best talkers, No meeka is ( just my opinion)
She sings old macdonald and jibbers all the time, she is so quick to pick up new words.
here is Bugsy my little Quaker, this was taken last year at christmas time.
My daughter thought it was cute to place him in the tree when we were decorating....
I will post more later but this will give you an idea.
I have other birds to share with you......thanks again Donna[img][/img]
