Flight suit or Feather tether?????

Well I tried BMustee's advice with the retractable dog leash and it worked! I took Violet out the morning in the yard (after looking everywhere for hawks) and let her fly a bit. I really need 2 people so she has someone to actually fly to. She justs flys in a circle once or twice and then lands on the ground but seems to like it. She is really good about her harness now and in the house will fly to me on command. So good progress update!!

The aviator harness folks sell a lead (they call it a flight line) on its own too. Its the same elasticy stuff so when the bird gets to the end of the line, they dont come to a sudden stop.

Oh and Christy.. I know my grey is beautiful... she gets her looks from her mother you know !!!!

What about those dog leads that are retrackable? I would think those would work.

I just got a Medium Feather Tether for Violet yesterday as Boo's small didn't fit her. I love it b/c the medium doesn't have to go over their head as it has clips all the way around. She actually let me put it on her and take her outside. Now since she's flight does anyone know where I can get the long line so she can flight more than 6ft. up?

The aviator harness has a kind of elastic leash, so your bird can fly with it on. Heres a picture of Liath my grey wearing one.

Baby has gotten really laid back here lately, except when my lab want to play with her...LOL!! I think I'm going to get the aviator harness. It seems safe and semi easy to put on I want to start taking her yard saleing and to the flea markets with me

I use the Feather Tether on Elmo (cag) and I really like it. Like mentioned before, I wouldn't use the flight suits outside because of the velcro but it is nice to catch the poop in. I tell people to start their birds as early as they can on their birds to get them used to them, because older birds can look at a harness as death on a leash and want NOTHING to do with them.

Whats the aviator harness?

I like the flight suit b/c you can catch the poo in it with little pads however I would not recommend it for outdoor use as it only velcros together and I would be concerned it could come undone. I also have the feather tether and it is much more secure however doesn't seem to be as comfortable for the bird and is harder to get on as you have to put it over their head. Hope that helps!

Which of theese would you get if you had to choose between the two???? Im not real sure what the difference is yet....other that the suit has a place for them to potty in. Please let me know
