Mario,
Thats fuuny that you said that about the bugs...LOL!!! Baby was on the back of the rocking chair and a spider came down on its web and baby grabbed it and ate it! It was funny to watch but on the other hand I was worried that it would mske her sick. She also tries to eat the files that get in her cage. Thats funny to watch!!

Re: birds and meat.
Hello,
Meat that is cooked is very good for a bird. In the wild a bird will eat bugs and insects to make up the protien in there diet. I also give chicken, beef, pork, turkey, and some fish. The bones are very good for them. The marrow is packed with protien and also the bone has a high calcium count. This is a great treat for a hen that has just laid eggs. I also give a egg scrambled with the shells and a hard boiled egg with the shell. These are great treats for them and they benifit from the vitamins and calcium.

Re: birds and meat.
My bunch are scared to death of the bones lol. SweetHeart sees one coming and she growls like crazy at it lol. I haven't tried it with Casper yet though come to think of it. But to answer your question Tammy you just give them the bone, they just chew at it like a dog would lol.
Re: birds and meat.
After we have eaten it, say a roast chicken, I give them the bone with a teeny bit of meat still attached. They absolutely love it. A word of warning though, if you give it to your bird whilst in the cage, be sure to clean it really well... meat goes bad very quickly and (a) stinks and (b) can be dangerous when it is rotten.
I never give it to them in the cage.

Re: birds and meat.
My lot love chicken and fish is a favourite. But heck between the dogs and birds I should start loosing weight as they seem to get the lions share. I don't mind though. Hoe do you give them chicken bones? I am a bit "chicken" to do it.

Re: birds and meat.
Oh yes it is all good as long as it is cooked.[b] We give ours a little of whatever we are having for dinner. Just have to watch the garlic and how much salt it has. But we do a little of everything, not saying it's healthy, we do just a little bit of it here and there especially when we have like fried chicken breasts or something. They love it, but I only give them one little piece of it. But like I said you just have to watch the garlic and the salt.
Re: birds and meat.
I give my guys chicken too. They especially love the leg bone. They break it open and eat the marrow out of the middle. I also given them the bone from a lamb chop and they love that too.

Can birds have cooked meat? My sister-in-law gives her parrots boiled chicken. Is that ok?
