Re: Painted Conure
Siobhan, if you want my opinion, you should wait. It sounds like he is not the bird for you and if you leave him there then one day whomever he is meant to be with will walk through that door and find him. It could turn out that you would get him and fall in love with him but if you don't feel that strongly about it I would wait.

Re: Painted Conure
Nothing.... still debating. I don't really want him. But he has been there since the shop opened about a year ago. And he is only a little bird.... aaagh.... don't know. I will probably leave him there. I have just finished the aviary and getting the little birds outside. I only have Beaker and the Greys in the house now. I probably should stick with that

Re: Painted Conure
That is a tough choice! Your heart goes out to him, but you don't really want him! You just want to save him! Maybe he would make a really good bird though? I don't know, what did you decide?

Thats a euro symbol Ronda! I live in Europe
No I have to say I wouldnt say I get butterflies or anything else. In fact I dont even think he is a particularly pretty bird. I just know he has been there soooo long and I hate seeing birds in pet shops long term. hmmmm I will think about it for a while

Re: Painted Conure
Painted conures are amazing birds! Similiar to green cheeks, very friendly if well socialized, fair talking ability. I would not call ANY conure quiet, though as far as a conure goes yes they are quiter. They are small but BIG in heart and personality. I say go for it!

Re: Painted Conure
I don't know, I do know that the Conures around here sell for around $500 U.S. dollars, I have no idea how much that is in U.S. that you typed lol We don't even have that key on our keyboards lol. Is that what your dollar sign looks like?? Just cause they are quieter though doesn't mean they won't be noisy lol. It's completely up to you, when you see this little guy/gal does your heart break? Do you get butterflies? That's what I would go by lol. But than again I have MBS lol Let us know what you do!!!
Re: Painted Conure
Hmmm... what do you think? Not sure quiet would work very well in this house. And they are looking for €500 for him. I think thats an awful lot for such a little guy.

Re: Painted Conure
Hey Siobhan! I found this site, it's only a little bit on them, but it should give you an idea, and Amberli was right, they are known for the quieter conure.

Painted Conure
Does anyone know anything about them? There is one for sale in a large pet shop near me and it has been there for MONTHS. I am debating buying it.....
