Re: new bird
already had taken to the vet and the bird is fine, and i already have it in a quarantine area, and i have been looking for ads out there in case someone lost there bird, but im pretty sure i know who the bird belongs to and i can say right now if you all seen this family and how they treat there animals you wouldnt give it back, im just surprised that there maccaw is still alive. i know animal control been to there house due to the way the shelter there dogs. so im waiting to see if they put any ads out, not that i will give it back to them but if someone else is missing one then yeah i would give it back....

Re: new bird
Hello,
I agree with Ronda watch for a lost ad in the paper. One thing is for sure you should watch out by bringing a bird from the outside into a home with other parrots. Even if this was a pet it has been outside for a time and can pick up alot of parasites and also diseases that could spred to your flock. I would bring the Quaker to the avain vet and get a clean bill of health before you introduce it to your home. Even with a clean bill of health you should quarintine it for at least 45 days away from the flock you have already. This is for your benifit and the health of your flock. I hope you take the warning. I would hate nothing less then for you to tell us that you are having health problems with your flock because of it. Just a word of advise for you.

Re: new bird
Yes we do have one, but being that it's that friendly it has to have been a pet. I would watch for ads in the paper of someone who has lost it for sure. I would hate to lose mine even though she's a pain in the butt lol.
They are just like any other parrot basically though, they do pick a favorite person usually, depends on how it was raised. But they eat the pellets and regular people food just like other parrots, if you have any questions just ask! I have been on the road all day and nothing really comes to mind except they are a one person bird normally and can be a pain in the butt as mine is sitting here screaming now lol. But just ask if you have any questions, I'm sure I can answer them tomorrow lol. It's a cutie though!

Hey Kimmie, he's really cute! That's a great story. I've never had a quaker but I know Ronda has one and I'm sure she can tell you all about them. Did you give your new friend a name yet?
