Looking for an update on Casper

He did when he was trying to learn how to talk..He still has a very limited vocab. "Hi Boo, Hi Baby, Boo Bird" and laughs, that's about it. But his little voice is adorable and definately all his own...I hope he picks up more but maybe not.

Did you hear the video that is called My Quacker Goffin lol. The one where he is mumbling? Does your's do that at all?

I checked it out...That's his "crazy bird" scream. He does that one when he's mad at his toys or showing off. The one he does at night is more of like a baby flock call "Hey come back here". I guess you would say it's raspier..If you listen to Cash's video and can ignore the conure, he does it in the very beginning.

We got a harness for him. And it's not the one that everyone talks soo highly about, but it is still well made and seems to do the job nicely. He can't get out and he doesn't seem to care much that it's there. SweetHeart on the other hand freaked out, I will have to ease her into hers. And yes I really hope that the sweetness rubs off a bit lol. I found that if she can't see her cage, she is sweet lol. But hard to do when you have a very small house lol. You'll have to let me know if it's the same noise that Boo makes!! I'm curious to know!

That's fantastic...Boo screamed at night for about a month or two like hey....get back here...I'm not ready for bed yet! They are too cute. Did you get the flight suit or the harness? I have the suit but I think I'm gonna get the harness bc it seems that it would be more secure for being outdoors. I wanna see the video, I'm gonna check it out. I'm wondering if it's the same noise Boo makes. Your hubby should take him to work, mine love it when they get to go (they are pissed that the baby is going and not them)...WEll I can't wait to hear more as he grows and starts talking more! Thanks for the update! Maybe he will rub off some sweetness on Sweetheart!

LOL Girl, your right! He is such a joy! He is now 14 weeks old today actually. He of course does the little loud yells here and there, but I am surprised they aren't more of them actually. We have tried to leave him alone as much as possible. We were afraid of getting him too used to us cuddling him and than when the new wore off a little he would be upset cause he's not getting all the cuddles. He is learning to play very well! He loves toilet paper rolls lol. Needless to say we always have them lol. We bought some Apple Juice that is for Toddlers with less sugar in it and we soak his pellets in those and he loves them. He also eats his regular hard pellets. He is a good bird, he will eat anything you put in front of him for the most part. He is no longer on his morning feeding, just his evening one now and honestly he doesn't really cry for it either, it's more of a comfort thing I think. It's funny, I take a little out for SweetHeart cause I was hoping to bond with her a little more, and now in the evening she does this certain whistle like Hey I'm over here and I want some lol. It's the only time she does that whistle lol. I call it her happy meal whistle lol. I will give you another update on her later. But as for Casper, we couldn't ask for a better baby! He doesn't like to be covered at night though. He is in the living room with the rest of us and we usually cover our birds and sometimes we will sit out here and watch another hour or so of TV. Can't do that with him, if he thinks he's missing something he will yell at the top of his lungs lol. Now he can be in his cage and he's fine. He plays and does what I call his bitching lol. He mumbles and it just sounds like an old woman nagging lol. I have a video up on youtube of him doing it. I do have them posted here somewhere on the forum, but if you go to youtube you can type in my name "ronda477" and my page should come up. He is such a little clown. Since the night we got him home Jessie has called him "Big Boy" when he spreads his wings. Now when he spreads his wings he will look around to see who is noticing him and wait lol. If you say Oh what a big boy even if he's on your shoulder he spreads his wings out to show you how big he is lol. He really is the perfect example of a very well behaved and well bred and raised Cockatoo. I will try to get some more recent video's of him mumbling. Oh and we put his harness on him and he doesn't mind it at all. We haven't taken him out yet though, will keep you updated on that. Jessie works at a little hardware/feed store where it's just him and his best friend that work there and they want to take him to work lol. So we will see lol. I'm sure Casper would love it! Well that is my update on him lol. I will get some more vids and pics soon! Thanks!!
