Well everyone the time has finally arrived!!!!! We are picking him up at the airport tomorrow!!!!!!!!! His flight comes in at 2 pm! We are soo excited! Look what his breeder Janice sent me yesterday for my b-day!



How sweet is that!!! We got all his cage done with his toys. I made two toys as well I will post a pic of them later! But I couldn't wait to tell you all about him coming home tomorrow!

Well Molly first lived with this older woman, and than this guy we knew did a carpentry job for her and she couldn't pay him completely and asked if he would like to have the bird. Well he took it not knowing anything about them. Molly lived with 3 guys all aged 19-21. So I can only imagine what they did to her. Than the guy that originally took her which lived there and was one of the three guys moved out and got married. I knew the girl, and to say the least we don't talk anymore for many reasons, mainly because I can't stand back stabbers and liars lol. But anyway Molly was loud because for one, she had never learned to play, she was only on a seed diet, and the only attention she had ever gotten was guys making fun of her or probably getting her high and than moving to the married home where the woman thought she was too loud and put her in the stairwell of the basement and when she was being way to loud she would go in there and flick her in the head! Well we were over there one evening for the first time in years and we saw her. They let her out so we could see her and she went right to Jessie after flying around for a minute and the woman chasing after her with a broom. Jessie fell in love with her. We never ever had a bird before this, but every year around income tax time we would always talk about getting a parrot. Well the woman and her husband said if we wanted her we could take her cage and all. So we did! For the first few months I tried along side Jessie to get her to like me, but there are scars on my hands from where she tore into me and honestly I just couldn't take the bites like Jessie could. She really hated woman and with reason. It helped me a little knowing what her background was and why she hated me lol. But Jessie kept working with her and we joined a Quaker forum the first day we got her to learn everything we could about her. We put her on a pellet diet and gave her fruits and veggies and she came with a stand too that they never once used. So from the time we got up till the time we went to bed she was out with us and could go back to her cage if she wanted to, but just that little bit of freedom made a difference in her. We have had her now for 9 years. She is 12 years old. Jessie can put her on her back now and rub her tummy and let her hang from his finger, which she actually just started doing and doesn't much care for it lol. But that's our story on Molly lol

Poor Molly! I knew you had rescued her, but I didnt know the extent of her problems. Why did the previous owner decide to give her up I wonder? Did you know the woman? (I know I am being nosy!)

Yes Molly is tame for my husband and sometimes my daughter. But Quakers are known to pick one person and stick with them and she picked my husband from the start, and for a good reason. She hated woman. She came to us at 3 years old and very abused. Was kept in a dark stairwell and flicked in the head all the time by her previous owner. Took my husband a good year to gain her trust completely but now he can put her on her back and everything. She is 12 years old. But what I mean by actually holding a bird is cuddling with one cause you can't take Sweetheart or Molly and do anything more than just have them on your hand. Sweetheart is just starting to let someone give her neck scratches and most the time she doesn't even like that. Molly will sometimes allow Jessica to pet her but in a few seconds later she is trying to bite her. So it will be nice to have a bird that is still a baby and loves to cuddle and cockatoo's are known to be cuddly like that anyway, and the Goffin's usually stay that way. They are great family birds compared to some of the other cockatoo's.

Is Molly not tame either then?

Thanks! And we had him DNA'd and it is a boy. We can't wait to get him! I'm sure he will be very spoiled here! The kids can't wait to actually get a bird they can hold lol

What a little doll. You will have a lot of fun with Casper. They are a great family bird and they just love the attention and all the cuddling. You will have a very spoiled bird on your hands. Like I do with mister Ziggy!!!!

Looks like he's getting big and strong! Time will fly and you will have your baby soon!!!

We are looking at around April 18th. May be a little sooner and of course if he isn't ready a little later. We can't wait though! He is starting to eat his pellets a little, and weighs 290. So he is doing good! Just have to wait till he's eating better now!

What a transformation, he is really growing fast isnt he? Have you an approximate date for when you can take him home yet?

He is soo cute! That will be about the same age we are getting ours at! And yes I would love to see a pic of your stand when you get a chance! We just bought a good sized cage for him and like all the other birds we have, he will be out all day except for when I leave. But I can't wait to have a little snuggle bug! My TAG just isn't cuddly lol Not that I thought she would be lol

He is 11 mos. old. I got him when he was about 3 mos. from a local bird store. I can take a pic of the stand when I get home for you. They actually don't seem to like it that much as I think it needs less branches and more gaps (best way to explain it?). Boo is a riot. He is such a cuddle bug and just loves to be petted. He will roll onto his back and I can carry him around like that. So different than my ekkie. He has just started talking and says: "Hi Boo" "Boo Bird" "Hi Baby" and he laughs. He does this thing that we call "crazy bird" and puffs himself up shakes his head around and hops! It's hilarious. You are just gonna love yours!

What a cutie Claire! Looks like you have a very nice stand for him. Do you have a pic of that? How old is yours? Have you had him since he was a baby? lol sorry soo many questions lol. And no we can't wait to get him!
